1. Project Background & Challenge
This project was conducted as part of an internship selection test for a UI/UX Designer role.
The goal of Pijar Music is to create a charitable concert ticketing platform. It connects users with music events while turning ticket sales into natural disaster relief and charity contributions. The primary target audience consists of millennials who are enthusiastic about both live music and social philanthropy.
Identified Problems
- Millennial Engagement: Low initial interest in traditional charity formats, requiring creative interaction strategies.
- Donation Transparency: Users are skeptical about how donation funds are distributed and utilized.
- Suboptimal User Experience: Complex purchase funnels and non-responsive layouts discourage users midway.
- Community Retention: Difficulty in sustaining active community interactions post-event.
2. Research & Problem Validation
To validate our initial assumptions, we conducted user surveys and interviews with digital-active music enthusiasts.
Key Pain Points Identified
- Uncertainty of Impact: Users want solid verification of where their money goes.
- Complexity in Checkout: Frustration with tedious, non-responsive purchasing forms.
- Lack of Incentives: Absence of recognition or reward features for active donors.
We synthesized these findings into an Affinity Diagram grouping user motivations, and created a detailed User Persona (Dinda, 28) and User Journey Map to highlight drop-off points during ticket checkout.
3. The Hook Model Canvas
To build a habit-forming platform that encourages repeat contributions, we applied Nir Eyal’s Hook Model:
- Triggers:
- External: Direct invites from friends, concert alerts of favorite artists.
- Internal: Desire to make an impact, empathy for disaster victims.
- Action: Easy, single-tap ticket purchasing and setting up micro-donations.
- Variable Reward: Transparency reports and real-world impact metrics (e.g., photos showing food aid distribution).
- Investment: Collecting donation badges, sharing concert contribution history on social feeds.
4. Feature Prioritization (MoSCoW Method)
To optimize resources, we categorized features using the MoSCoW prioritization model:
- Must Have:
- Detailed reports on donation fund utilization.
- Transparent, live tracker of funds raised.
- Should Have:
- Personalized notification settings.
- Voting/polling options for users to select the next charity recipient.
- Could Have:
- Visual galleries showing impact updates.
- Loyalty reward badges.
- Won’t Have (deferred for later stages):
- Live Q&A webinars.
- Giveaway contests with prizes.
5. Visual UI Design & Final Mockups
- Branding & Colors: Vibrantly themed with warm magenta-pinks and clean whites to evoke passion, entertainment, and warmth.
- High-Fidelity Interface: Designed clean dashboard screens displaying upcoming charity concerts, interactive seat selection maps, quick payment screens, and a personal impact contribution dashboard.
